When you enter in the hair braiding industry, it is considered a speciality of hair. The average hair braider can make before taxes anywhere from $100-$500 in one day depending on your clientele base. As a former hair braider , I was able to bring home $6,000 in one month but that’s because I had hair braiders working for me as well. Income can vary from hair braider in a location too. If you don’t have a stable clientele base, income can be low but you can still make $500 a month working part time if you have little clientele.

HB – A “hair braider” means a person who is licensed to engage in the practice of weaving or interweaving natural human hair for compensation without cutting, coloring, permanent waving, relaxing, removing, or chemical treatment and does not include the use of hair extensions or wefts.
HW – A “hair wrapper” means a person who is licensed to engage in the practice of wrapping manufactured materials around a strand or strands of human hair, for compensation, without cutting, coloring, permanent waving, relaxing, removing, weaving, chemically treating, braiding, using hair extensions, or performing any other service defined as cosmetology.

Hair Braiding is to interweave three or more strands, strips, or lengths of in a diagonally overlapping pattern. There are many hair braiding techniques such as corn row, micro hair braiding, individual box braid plaits , design braids, etc.
